Starting From Scratch? Read this…

Not sure where to start in your weight-loss journey? Whether you’re starting fresh or trying to get re-started, it can feel OVERWHELMING or EXCITING or CONFUSING or HOPEFUL or SCARY… honestly- it can feel like you’re on a rollercoaster of all those emotions!

And just like rollercoaster, you might find yourself alternating between wanting to:

1) DO ALL THE THINGS ALL AT ONCE- cut out all junk food, workout 6x a week for 1hr+, start reading self development, start waking up at 5am, meal prep all your food in those tiny perfect containers and clean out your entire fridge so you have a place for them.

or you might want to…

2) SIT. THINK ABOUT IT. FEEL OVERWHELMED. CLICK “NEXT EPISODE” ON NETFLIX- maybe you start thinking about how hard it will be or how you need to find the right meal plan or the right workout or the right time to start… and it never comes!

Whether you’re a 1 or 2, the end result will be the same.

When we go super hard and overhaul our life… we rely on a heck on of willpower to get started and keep going and eventually burn out! We fall back into our old habits as soon as an obstacle comes up!

And if you’re overwhelmed before you even start, chances are your brain has a ton of excuses and reasons that it’s never the right time to start. So you stay feeling stuck and frustrated!

I know I’ve been a 1 and a 2 at different times during my life, but I don’t ever experience those extreme high or lows anymore- because I learned a different way to tackle my weightloss journey and build my habits.

Here’s how you can get off the rollercoaster, too (or maybe avoid it altogether!)

1) Follow the Ready 4 Habits for weightloss. These are the 4 habits I use and all my clients use to lose their weight for the last time. I put them in a get started guide that helps you start implementing them immediately and you can get yours for FREE by clicking here!

2) Keep your habits extremely doable- they should feel almost TOO EASY. A great question to help you do this is:

“Is this something I can see myself doing long term?!”

If not, don’t do it. Results only last as long as our habits do.

3) Keep a ‘wins log’ or success page in your journal! Cheer yourself on. If you have time to beat yourself up, you have time to cheer yourself on. And only one is going to help you keep going (spoiler alert- it’s the cheering)

BONUS: Listen to the Ready to Lose podcast to keep your mindset in the right place and get free coaching each week!

That’s all you need to get started and to start seeing progress. Start here! Everything else is just extra.

Remember to grab your guide by clicking here

And keep going! Results don’t come from being perfect or doing the most, they come from consistency.

xo,

Billie Blake

timelines and weight-loss

A lot of us aren’t living the lives we want until we lose weight.

⁣⁣”I’ll start dating when I’m feeling more confident.”⁣⁣

“I’ll get pregnant again after I lose the weight from baby #1.”⁣⁣

“I’ll buy the clothes I love once I have the body to wear them.”

⁣⁣Life is ready to be lived now. And you don’t need to lose weight to start living it. ⁣⁣

We say these things because they 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 motivating… but on top of typical diet programs which already feel like a punishment, we are now punishing ourselves even more by delaying the things we want. ⁣⁣

4 years ago at our friends’ wedding and then us on OUR wedding day.

Mike started dating me when I was at my heaviest weight. He loved me when I was 30lbs heavier than I am right now. ⁣⁣

You don’t need to be at your weight goal to start living life. You can have all of those things now. ⁣⁣

And you can also lose weight. Not because you have to, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. ⁣⁣

What do you think you’d be doing if you were at your goal weight? Whatever they are…

Let’s start doing those things now

I lost my gym routine to quarantine! Now what?

Gyms are closed. Workout classes are cancelled. Can you still lose weight?

Yes, it’s possible.

In fact, it’s how I teach my clients to lose their weight. WITHOUT exercise.

Don’t get me wrong, I love working out and I think there are so many benefits to moving your body every day, but it’s not the most important part of weightloss.

There are 2 different mindsets i’ve had about exercising throughout my weightloss journey:

  1. I hate where I am/who I am right now and need to change as fast as possible. I need to do 6 week intense program so I can get the results and finally feel happy. At least 45 minutes a day so I can feel like I’m really making a difference. If it’s too easy, it wont work.

  2. I feel good when I move my body every day, even if it’s just a walk. I love lifting weights and seeing how strong I can become and what my body is capable of doing. I am working out because I love myself not to get away from myself.

Only one of them has been long lasting and gotten me to show up consistently for myself

If you want to workout, find something you love and do it FOR you. When you picture your healthiest self at her goal weight, what is she doing? Is she a runner? Does she love yoga? Find movement activities that you know you can do for the rest of your life. You love them THAT much.

I started with lifting weights 3x a week for 15 minutes. That was all I could commit to consistently. Then I moved that up to 4x a week and then 5 x a week. Now I go to the gym to lift 6 days a week. I love it. I have tried HIIT programs, running, kickboxing, etc. None of them stick with me like weight training does.

Now that gyms are closed and we are in quarantine, I’m still moving my body in ways I love. I do body resistance training at home, go for long walks, or dance! It’s something that I look forward to every day.

Find your thing. Do it for yourself. Work on your mindset around food and life to lose your weight. Sign up for a free session with me if you want to get started on losing your weight now.
